Synopsis
Playing golf can be a real battle. There are water hazards, heavy rough, sand traps, gunfire, and uneven greens. You never know what to expect. Wait a minute. Did you say gunfire.
Background
Decided to turn our annual golf outing into a war. Seemed to be lots of parallels. Bunkers, hazards, etc. This took a number of years, shooting one day each year at our annual outing. Not the easiest thing to complete. Thankfully my friends were cooperative for the most part, although their top priority was to play golf (why was that ;-) In the end I had additional shoots to wrap up the project. Watched some war movies and found a way to incorporate some of them. Audie Murphy in War is Hell, and Robert Mitchum in the Longest Day. Also hired a voice-over actor for one of the scenes. Wrote a lot of silly dialog using golf metaphors. This was strictly for laughs with my friends who participated as the intended audience.
Music
Scored it with lots of Aaron Copeland music. Great war time background
music.
Also used a Dizzy Gillespie Orchestra tune called Cool Breeze with
a voice over part (my favorite).
Also used lots of sound effects (guns, explosions, etc)
